"Walk By Faith, Not By Sight" 2 Corinthians 5:7
Though I don’t consider myself to he a “feminist,” I do see the value and importance of including women on our currency. I believe that replacing Andrew Jackson would make sense, in agreement with Native Americans mentioned in the article. Further, I believe that those four women listed as possible choices are spot on. Ad I began reading the article, I couldn’t think of another more honorable list. It is a smart play for this debate to be rising in a time when there is a powerful First Lady. Whether you or I agree with the Obamas is besides the point. You can’t deny the influence and empowerment Michelle Obama had right now. And though replacing the Treasury building on the back of the $10 note is a wonderful idea, I feel that women should be given more credit. Why not both? There have been so many influential women in our history, that narrowing it down is just as hard as it is for picking which bill to change. However, placing a woman on a bill, regardless of who or what, will be a tremendous step for women’s empowerment in our nation.
