Recently, a graduate of Florida State University and a soldier in the U.S. Army was killed in Eastern Afghanistan. A soldier in the 101st, 2nd Lt. Justin Lee Sisson has been remembered here in Seminole country. We are keeping your family and friends in our thoughts and prayers. The full story can be found here.
We also are supporting those that are still fighting for our freedom and who are risking their lives everyday. It is so hard to commemorate all that have lost their lives for ours, but they will not go unnoticed. Memorial Day occurred two weekends ago, but that does not mean that after that day we move on with our lives and forget. For me, our nation’s military is constantly on my heart and mind. I pray that God will keep them safe. Being a military personnel is a hard job, where most men and women risk everything for us, such as a comfortable home, regular sleep, spouses while on deployment, etc. To all that are fighting, serving, have served, and those that have lost loved ones, thank you. I stand behind you, as well as Florida State University.
